Standing on the Side of Love is a campaign sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Association and promotes respect for the inherent worth and dignity of every person. We believe that no person of any immigrant status, race, religion, gender identity and sexual orientation, ability level, or political view should be dehumanized through acts of exclusion, oppression, or violence.

Radical inclusion of all is the basis of Universalism in our time

and is promoted by Murray Grove Retreat and Conference Center.

Valerie Vaughn

"New Jersey's Troubadour"

Valerie Vaughn lives in the South Jersey Seaport town of Tuckerton. A songwriter and performer since her teens she is celebrated in South Jersey for her numerous compositions about NJ history and folklore. In 2008 she was nominated for the Governors award for promoting NJ tourism and has toured and performed in England and Ireland frequently. In 2000 she was nominated by Senator Lautenberg to represent NJ and perform for "The Kennedy Center" at our nations capital where she performed her many songs about NJ. In 1999 she performed in concert with the folk legend "Pete Seeger" and was a featured and honored alumni of Rutger's University in 1998.
" Vaughn's style fuses past and present, education and entertainment. First and foremost she has made a name for herself as a musical historian of sorts, writing and performing haunting ballads about topics both eerie "Mrs Leeds 13th Child" and majestic "Alice Paul tribute" and the environmentally concerned "Tucker's Island". While it goes without saying that she's played extensively in local venues- and has garnered a sizable following doing so- it is also worth noting that she has traveled as far as England to share a bit of lore with the world at large. Vaughn is a fluent and enthusiastic storyteller as she speaks before she launches into song with her creamy smoothe and even angelic voice."
-Heather Pharo, The Sandpaper
