-- for the schooner of that name which brought John Murray to these shores,
and the way we approach our efforts and presence at Murray Grove -
Rudy Nemser, Serenity Screen
Look to your right when driving onto the Murray Grove property and you'll see the newly
planted Rudy Nemser Serenity Screen. On a drizzly and chilly day during the first weekend in April, a group of volunteers
and staff joined their brute strength (and all strengths in between) to accomplish the planting. None of this would have been
possible without the enormous efforts of Susie and John Hook who purchased the plants, rented a truck and hauled all of its contents to MG. Later in June, Susie and John returned to MG and planted another
five Red Cedars thus completing this initial stage of planting.
The MG board set a goal of $10,000 to be raised for the purpose of realizing the vision laid down in the landscaping plan
that was designed by Susie Hook and published in the last newsletter. To date generous donors have pledged and/or given $7,200.
