The Murray Grove
Association:
A retreat and
conference center,
historic landmark
and bold vision
of impact on
the world.

Please give us a call any time to talk about making your reservations! We’ll look at the calendar together, go over all the options and figure out what’s exactly right for you.

When we decide on dates for your retreat, we’ll send you an Invoice, noting the deposit of 50% of the total, required to confirm your reservation, and the final payment, to be made upon arrival. With the Invoice will be a copy of our Contract, for you to sign and send back to us with the deposit. The Contract spells out the rental agreement in detail, as well as such conditions as:

GENERAL AGREEMENTS

There is no smoking allowed in any of the buildings at MG. Smokers outside must dispose of cigarette butts properly.

The Group agrees to leave the entire facility in the same condition in which they found it. For details, please refer to the "Guest Clean-Up Checklist," which will be included in the information packet.

The Group assumes responsibility for damage caused to facilities beyond normal use.

There must be at least one adult for every eight children under the age of 18.

Use of the pool by adults requires each adult to sign an insurance waiver.

Use of the pool by persons under 16 years of age requires one adult guardian for each child to sign an insurance waiver and be present inside the pool area at all times the child is present. For large groups of children, a lifeguard is required.

In order to provide a safe environment for all MG guests and staff, the Group must assure that its participants abide by the following practices: firearms, illegal drugs, and violence are not permitted. Guests under the age of 21 are not allowed to possess
or use alcohol.

Once your reservation is confirmed, we’ll send you a packet of planning materials, including a Guest Information sheet, a Leaders Information sheet, layouts of the guest houses and a map of Murray Grove. Among the most important information is:

Emergency Contact Number
The emergency contact number, in case there is an urgent call for you while you are at Murray Grove, is 609-693-8206. This is the number of the voice-mail telephone in the Lodge. Please give it to any family and friends who might need to contact you.

What to Expect
Weakley House is decorated in a “bed-and-breakfast” style, with two twin beds in each of ten rooms and a queen-sized bed in one room; bathrooms are shared. There is no air conditioning, but there are fans in each room.

Friedrich House is more simply but attractively furnished, with two twin beds in each of ten rooms, with the possibility of expanding to as many as 30 beds, and each room has a ceiling fan. Again, bathrooms are shared.

What to Bring
We provide linen rolls that include sheets, pillowcase, one bath towel and a washcloth, as well as blankets and pillows. You will need to bring toiletries (including soap and shampoo), and might also want: an alarm clock, earplugs, flashlight, flip-flops or other shower shoes, extra blanket and warm clothes for cool weather, and swimsuit for warm weather, extra towels for the pool or personal use, rain gear, insect repellant, sunscreen. A small electric fan might be a good idea in very hot weather. If you plan on walking the Nature Trail or the Nurture Trail, we suggest that you wear long pants and long sleeves and use insect repellant to prevent tick and other insect bites.

Arrival and Departure Times
Unless otherwise arranged, please plan to arrive at Murray Grove no earlier than 3:00 p.m. on the first day of your stay. The time of departure is no later than 1:00 p.m. on the last day. It may be necessary for us to request that you move your things out of your room by 9:00 a.m., in order to prepare for the next groups coming in.

Accessibility
We have some accessibility for people with limited mobility. Please call with questions.

Ecological Awareness
We would appreciate it greatly if you would help us in making our operations as environmentally friendly as possible: kindly turn off lights and fans when not in use, conserve water, and use the recycling bins.

In order to provide a safe environment for all guests:

  • Firearms, illegal drugs and violence are not permitted.
  • Guests under the age of 21 are not allowed to possess or use alcohol.
  • Sorry, pets cannot be accommodated.

Valuables

There are no locks on the guest room doors. Please keep valuables with you or locked in your vehicle. Murray Grove is not responsible for lost or stolen belongings.
